There are various walks nearby throughout the hills. The cottage has been completely refurbished over the past year. You can access it by a private driveway and there is also a large open field close to the farmhouse where you can wander around.

The lovely village called Pierrefontaine-les-Varans (1500 citizens) is approximately 2 miles away where you can find local shops, restaurants serving delicious regional food, post office, GP and chemist. Besançon (120 000 citizens) is just 25 miles away, approximately 30 minutes by car. Switzerland is 20 miles to the East.
